Bartolo in Ridgefield made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday, May 1.
The owners, Arthur and Julia Tess and Trey Michaelsen, said: "This one is truly difficult, however it is one we must say.
"After 12 years, Bartolo will be closing on Saturday, May 25. It is with an extremely heavy heart that we are making this announcement."
According to the many 5-star reviews online and from regulars, the dedicated group is accomplished at serving the public and getting to know all of the regulars.
One such fan said on Facebook after hearing the news: "Thanks for being a class act and a fine dining experience in a special town. We looked forward to dining with you guys, and loved watching Arthur cook our meals through his special spyglass.
"Always gave him the thumbs up! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family . Take care of each other! Ridgefield and beyond will miss the gem that you have created through the years."
The group said their decision was based solely on the fact that they must dedicate the majority of their time to their daughter and family.
"We are so grateful for all the love and support," they said. "Everyone has been so kind it is so special. We will miss each and every one of you more than you know!!"
They are encouraging all to come by before May 25 to have a last meal or just to say goodbye.
"Family is everything, and the one we built at Bartolo will never be forgotten," they said. "Please continue all your positive energy for our family."
The restaurant is located at 103 Danbury Road, Ridgefield.
